# SAP HANA — What We Collect

> The metadata, observability signals, and quality results Prizm extracts from SAP HANA.

Prizm reads from the SAP HANA system views and from the tables you include in scope. It never writes to SAP HANA.

## Catalog Metadata

| Prizm asset | SAP HANA object | What Prizm stores |
| :- | :- | :- |
| Schema | Schema in scope | Schema name and owner |
| Table / View | Table or view in an included schema | Name, schema, and schema owner. Qualified as `SCHEMA/TABLE` |
| Attribute | Table or view column | Column name and HANA data type (for example `NVARCHAR`, `INTEGER`, `TIMESTAMP`). Qualified as `SCHEMA/TABLE/COLUMN` |
| Keys and indexes | Constraints, referential constraints, and indexes | Primary key, foreign key, and structural metadata |

On the asset page, the **Attribute** tab lists every column with its data type, score, alerts, issues, and metric count. The data type filter at the top of the tab groups columns by HANA type.

## Observability Signals

| Signal | What it shows |
| :- | :- |
| Volume | Record count of the table |
| Schema | Number of columns, with a flag when columns have been added, removed, or changed since the previous scan |
| Freshness | Time since the table was last updated. For column-store tables this is based on the last delta merge, so it is approximate. Row-store tables have no native last-modified time, so Prizm infers it from changes in row count |

These appear in the **Key Metric** section of the asset's Overview tab.

## Quality and Criticality

* **Metrics.** Quality metrics run against the included tables and columns. Each asset shows its metric count, overall quality score, alerts, and issues.
* **Criticality.** Each table is assigned a criticality tier, shown in the asset list.

## What Prizm Does Not Collect

The current SAP HANA connector doesn't have a separate asset type for Calculation Views (they appear as plain views), and doesn't collect stored procedures, lineage, or query usage statistics. SAP RISE and S/4HANA Cloud systems aren't supported.
