Connecting Slack to Prizm

Prizm connects to Slack via OAuth. The authorization takes about one minute — Slack handles authentication automatically and no webhook URLs or bot tokens need to be entered manually.

Prerequisites

  • A Slack account with permission to authorize OAuth applications in your workspace
  • Access to the channels where Prizm should send notifications
  • For private channels: the ability to run /invite @PRIZM in each channel after connecting

Connect Slack in Prizm

Open the channel catalog

Navigate to Organization → Integration and click Add to open the channel catalog. Click the Slack tile to begin the OAuth flow.

Authorize with Slack

A popup opens redirecting you to Slack. Sign in with the account that has access to your workspace, select the workspace where Prizm should send notifications, and approve the requested permissions. Once authorized, you are returned to Prizm and Slack appears in your integration list with the connected workspace name.

Invite Prizm to private channels (if applicable)

Prizm can post to any public channel automatically. For private channels, open the channel in Slack and run:
Repeat for each private channel you want to use as a notification target.

Send a test notification

Navigate to Organization → Integration, click the pencil icon next to Slack, and click Test Notification to confirm delivery to the default channel.

Save the configuration

Click Update Integration. The Slack tile shows the connected workspace as active.

Configuration reference

The Slack OAuth connection is tied to the account that authorized the integration. If that account is deactivated or loses the required permissions, click Reconnect to re-authorize with a different account. For private channels, remember to run /invite @PRIZM before routing alerts there.
